Set up the homepage

Miella comes with a ready-made homepage built from its shortcodes. You paste it into a page, then replace the sample text and images with your own.

1. Create the page

1. Go to Admin → Pages → Create.
2. Name it, for example "Home".
3. Set Template to Homepage.
4. Open platform/themes/miella/sample/ and copy the contents of homepage-content.html into the page content (switch the editor to source/HTML mode first).
5. Save.

2. Make it the homepage

Go to Appearance → Theme options → Page, select your page as the homepage, and save.

3. Replace the sample content

The sample's placeholder pictures are SVG line drawings in public/storage/miella/, each with its recommended size written on it. Replace them with your own photos. Then:

1. Upload your own photos for the hero slides and the four mosaic banners.
2. Give your product categories a portrait image (e.g. 600×800) for the category cards, and mark the ones to show as featured, or pick them in the shortcode.
3. Add testimonials (Admin → Testimonials).
4. Give your brands a logo for [brand-logos].
5. Add the footer widgets (Quick links, Help, Services). See Menus & footer widgets.
6. Fill in Theme options → Footer: newsletter text, app links and payment logos.
